About Our Principal – Ms. Deborah Jones

I am honored and blessed to serve as the first principal at Ridgecrest Christian Academy and to be able to serve our students, teachers, staff, and Ridgecrest Baptist Church. I began my teaching career in Daytona Beach, Florida 23 years ago after graduating from Florida Baptist Theological College with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Christian Education and a minor in Bible. I was a classroom teacher for twenty-three years at several schools in several cities across the state of Florida. During this time, I taught all subject areas in sixth through twelfth grades.  I’ve worked with struggling learners and earned my Reading Endorsement certification for the state of Florida.  I also went back to school to work on my master’s degree. In 2010, I graduated from Liberty University with a master’s degree in Curriculum with an emphasis in Reading. In 2013 I also graduated from Liberty University with an Ed Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership.

I desire to share my love for children with others daily. I can guarantee you that everything I do and every decision I make will be based on what is best for the students. My Christian educational philosophy is based on my uncompromising belief that all students can learn, given a positive learning environment, biblical foundation, discipline, strong Christian and knowledgeable leadership, a committed and focused educational team, an encouraging community, and a supportive family. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming, respectful, and FUN learning environment. I also believe it is important to create a school culture where all staff members truly believe ALL students can learn and will learn. We will be a campus that goes above and beyond to make sure your child receives the best education with high expectations and rigorous, biblical curriculum.  I intend to support, serve, and encourage RCA students, faculty/staff, and families in their quest to live out the school’s mission of glorifying God, discipling students, and pursuing rigorous, academic excellence.
